Mount Lighting provided a bespoke LED lighting retrofit upgrade for a DZ BANK AG branch in Central London – improving energy efficiency, enhancing aesthetics, and delivering a clean install without altering the existing ceiling.
DZ BANK AG, Germany’s second-largest bank, needed a sustainable lighting upgrade for one of its key branches located near St Paul’s Cathedral in Central London. The brief? A full refresh of one floor, covering open-plan LED office lighting and a comms room, but all without pulling down the ceiling to do it.
The client wanted to swap out tired and inefficient fluorescent fittings for something smarter – LED panels. But there was a catch. Everything had to fit seamlessly into an existing metal SAS ceiling. No ripping things out. No starting from scratch.
So, Mount Lighting made a bespoke LED lighting retrofit solution.
Working from the bank’s original floor plans, Mount Lighting created a full lighting design and collaborated with the Main Contractor Peldon Rose project team to ensure alignment with expectations. The goal was to achieve a clean, minimal finish that complemented the space without overpowering it.
To support the bank’s ESG commitments and its BREEAM-certified building status, an energy-efficient lighting retrofit was central to the brief.

Mount Lighting needed to design and supply retrofitted LED panels that would slot straight into where the old ones had been. Simple in theory, but tricky in practice. But with our technical know-how and product flexibility we were able to make it happen without any disruption.
The LED lighting retrofit was completed without any changes to the existing SAS metal ceiling system.
We began by visiting the site with the electrical contractor, removing an existing fitting and crafting a custom LED panel and bespoke frame that would drop easily into the existing ceiling tiles.
