Zetland House, Shoreditch

Zetland House is an outstanding building set in the heart of Shoreditch and caters for multi occupational use with several floors set around a central courtyard area.  The building was originally a print works for the Bank of England, printing banknotes, stamps and bonds. More recently it was a home for street artist and screen printer Banksy.  Since then it has been converted into office spaces whilst maintaining the original and structural features and services a variety of creative companies working out of same building.

Mount Lighting was called in to assess the requirement for new LED linear lighting to one of the floors to complement the existing building character and floor layout.

One special feature was a network of existing heating pipes running within the ceiling space. Our M-Line linear range was chosen and designed to run in continuous runs with a single wiring entry point to simplify the challenging wiring installation. The length of each luminaire was carefully manufactured to fit the room dimensions, with runs in excess of 20m in some cases. Each run was made up of LED light sections interspersed with colour-matching blank plates.

Full design and installation drawings were produced to assist the contractor with an installation that was carried out over three phases. This enabled the client to continue to use the building whilst the refurbishment works were carried out.
