We partnered with RS Response and Unispace to deliver commercial office lighting solutions in Hemel Hempstead for Boston Scientific, a global medical technology leader. This project highlighted our expertise in architectural lighting design, combining suspended LED linear lighting, low glare office lighting, and a full Category B fit out.
The scheme, designed and managed by Unispace, brought together aesthetics, acoustics, and light to create a workplace that enhances both functionality and wellbeing. Working closely with RS Response as the electrical contractor, we provided a bespoke LED office lighting strategy that boosted productivity, improved visual comfort, and supported collaborative working.
The office required commercial office lighting solutions that could adapt to diverse spaces including private offices, meeting rooms, circulation routes, and breakout zones. Our team delivered workplace lighting design solutions with energy efficiency and visual comfort in mind. The installation integrated seamlessly into suspended ceilings and included recessed linear LED lighting to maintain architectural consistency.
Smart controls were also a key part of the solution, with Casambi lighting control providing wireless flexibility and efficient energy management.
The Globe suspended LED pendant is one of our most popular fittings for modern interiors. More than 80 units were installed across the Boston Scientific offices, creating warmth and balance throughout the workspace. With three available sizes and a choice of finishes, Globe’s opal diffuser offers soft, uniform illumination with both 3000K and 5000K options. Additional features include dimming, and Casambi wireless control.
The British-made M-Line system is designed for modern commercial spaces. It offers flexibility across suspended, recessed, or surface-mounted formats, and can be installed in continuous runs or custom geometric layouts. Options for dimming, emergency, and Casambi lighting control make M-Line a go-to choice for creating architectural impact.
For areas where visual comfort was critical, the M-Line 54 was used. Its microprismatic diffuser contributes to UGR<19 compliance, providing low glare office lighting that reduces eye strain and supports long hours of focused work. With standard and custom lengths available, it adapts to complex ceiling layouts while maintaining performance and sustainability.
We supplied pre-configured lighting systems complete with installation drawings covering emergency lighting, presence detectors, and LED emergency exit signs. This reduced contractor time on site and ensured a smooth installation.
Steve Langabeer, Project Manager at RS Response, commented:
“We’ve worked with Mount Lighting on several projects and it’s always a smooth process. The suspended M-Line system required specific geometric patterns and multiple components, but the detailed drawings and contractor-friendly design made installation straightforward. Their support was invaluable and we are delighted with the final result.”
From dimmable LED solutions to low glare office lighting, this project demonstrates our ability to deliver lighting strategies that balance form, function, and wellbeing.
