project requirements

The commercial space on Tabernacle Street is a 16,885 sq ft self-contained office suite with a dedicated reception and entrance and 4.28m floor-to-ceiling heights. The existing space had an industrial concrete construction, and the interior layout plans and lighting design needed to elevate the appearance to a more high-end feel.

Every part of the category A fit-out was focused on creating an office perfect for the modern tenant. All lighting products that Mount Lighting supplied as part of the project needed to stand out enough to impress while being subtle enough not to overpower.

The Mount team supplied high-efficiency LED lighting across the office areas and toilets. Lighting included local task, feature lights, suspended linear LED lighting and bespoke ring lights with DALI Dimming and DALI Monitored Emergency. Lighting in an office should emphasise and support productivity. Future tenants will benefit from a great mixture of natural light across all levels and LED lighting manufactured for the commercial workplace.

As usual, Mount Lighting rose to the challenge and supplied lighting from stock at our production facilities and also created bespoke lengths of linear LED to fill the large space. However, the team was also faced with a very unique request. We needed to create lighting that could ‘wrap around’ the concrete columns and provide good levels of uplighting.

The concrete columns feature across both storeys in the office. The Mount team had to manufacture a 2-part suspended Halo ring light that gave the illusion of an unbroken, circular arc to go around every column. The effect is striking and instantly eye-catching, and the manufacturing quality makes the product’s connecting points very difficult to pinpoint.

Suspended linear lighting, recessed linear lighting, emergency lighting, surface-mounted downlights and other lighting options were supplied to the project alongside LDT files, so that the client could carry out the design.

Mount Lighting yet again rose to the challenge and delivered a wide collection of high-quality office lighting that looks exceptional, saves energy and will promote productivity and welfare for future commercial tenants.
