80, The Strand, is an iconic building on the banks of the Thames that’s recently undergone a total interior transformation. 120,000 sq. ft. of flexible space now houses a glass pavilion and reception area, spacious lobby, and garden rooms, as well as the offices of our latest client, an international game development company.

Mount Lighting was on site from the early stages of the project until installation and worked closely with the electrical contractors to ensure the lighting design service was delivered on time and in spec. The main building had been fitted out to a luxury standard and the client was keen to have that aesthetic reflected in their own offices.  This included main office areas, breakout and server rooms, board rooms and tea points being redesigned to compliment the building’s stunning Art Deco features, light-filled contemporary spaces, and breath-taking riverside views. They provided us with a comprehensive project brief, and we are proud to say we met every requirement!  We supplied LED lighting solutions that met the exact colour specifications, including linear lighting in RAL9006 to match existing installations in the building and bespoke pendants colour matched for the reception space. Furthermore, all lighting was 3000K and DALI Dimmable, and the emergency lighting was DALI Monitored, as specified in the project brief.

At Mount Lighting, we thrive on going above and beyond for our clients. Our passion and expertise are visible in the lighting design and products we delivered in the reception, kitchen and break areas: intricate brass fixtures with exposed filament lamps that emanate a warm, low light; and Suspended Halo light fittings produced in bespoke colour of Pearl Gold. These eye-catching luminaires can illuminate large open spaces and are a decorative feature all on their own. The client created a striking contrast by combining their industrial style look with biophilia.

The winning highlight of the project has to be the Floe-Line curved lighting system illuminating the boardroom table. Floe-Line is our creative limit-defying range of curved-edged LED lighting that adds motion to any space – perfect for creative meetings to get ideas flowing!

We supplied Casambi lighting controls to enable the widest range of colour and light options on the RGBW LED Tape within the main boardroom and other spaces where this RGBW Tape was installed. The setup included standalone Casambi modules connected to LED drivers, a wireless four-button switch set to control four scenes, and the option to add extra scenes using the Casambi app. The Casambi Bluetooth Lighting Control commissioned via the Casambi app, gives users complete control over their workspace lighting with the touch of a button on their smartphone or tablet.

Because this project required various specialist LED tapes and controls, it was an epic mission to finalise the design on time.  Our team were on a tight deadline, but the challenge inspired us to play our A-game, and the whole team conquered the quest of completing another winning commercial LED London lighting scheme before time ran out!
